- Rainer Erdmann appointed new Sales Director for Europe and Asia

Hohenstein-Ernstthal, 16 September 2009 - Roth & Rau India Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Roth & Rau AG, commenced operations on 1 August 2009. The new companys primary sales function will be backed up by a comprehensive service and maintenance offering. "The global photovoltaics industry continues to experience strong growth and India is certain to be among the leading producers of solar modules in the coming five years. The foundation of Roth & Rau India Pvt. Ltd. has enhanced our local presence and strengthened our position in this highly promising growth market," explained Dr. Dietmar Roth, CEO of Roth & Rau AG.

Being an internationally leading supplier of technologies and production equipment to the photovoltaics industry, Roth & Rau AG remains strongly committed to cultivating customer satisfaction through close cooperation with customers. This approach, which has proven effective over the years, will now also be pursued in India where customers will benefit from the companys expanding local presence and account management. Moreover, additional service teams are planned to be installed in Hyderabad, Delhi und Pune in the coming months.

The sales organisation has been enhanced also on the corporate level. Effective 1 September 2009, Rainer Erdmann was appointed Sales Director for Europe and Asia. He has succeeded Thomas Hengst who was appointed Management Board member in charge of sales in July of this year. Rainer Erdmann previously served as managing director of the German subsidiary of US company Despatch Industries, a world-leading supplier of thermal process equipment to the photovoltaics industry. At Despatch Industries he successfully built a sales network in Europe and the Middle East. Rainer Erdmann has extensive experience in thermal processes and turnkey production lines for solar cell production.
