For more than 10 years, Roth & Rau is engaged in the industrial coating of solar cells and, with the SiNA® plant series, belongs to the leading offerers of plants for the anti-reflection coating and passivation of crystalline silicon solar cells. Our plants work in the in-line mode and are particularly characterized by mass production suitability, low operating costs and high flexibility with respect to the throughput. Moreover, MAiA® provides a number of possibilities to realize new technological solutions such as the coating of solar cells on both sides, the creation of multilayer coatings or dry etching processes. Further products are plasma technologies for the manufacture of thin-film solar modules in particular, on flexible substrates (roll to roll) as well as plasma process equipment for research & development.
Together with partners from the field of research and industry, we offer turnkey production lines for the manufacture of crystalline silicon solar cells ( Advanced Solar Cell Manufacturing). Based on the plant technology of leading manufacturers and on innovative solar cell concepts developed at famous solar research centers, the ASCM concept allows the quick start-up of a solar cell production at high technological level.
Our portfolio is supplemented by the products made by SLS Solar Line Saxony and AIS Automation Dresden. SLS Solarline Saxony develops and produces components and complex automation solutions for the wafer handling and inspection in solar-cell production lines. AIS Automation Dresden belongs to the leading provider of software for controlling plants and for monitoring complex production processes up to the automation of complete factories in the area of the semiconductor and photovoltaics industry.

Based on experiences and comprehensive process know-how of many years, Roth & Rau offers components such as plasma sources and ion beam sources as well as process systems for plasma- and ion-beam-enhanced thin-film and surface processing methods that can be used in many industrial sectors as well as in the field of research & development.
At that, there is particularly focused on the creation of tailored system solutions and processes.

With IonScan 800 and the ion-beam trimming method, Roth & Rau offers the presently worldwide leading technology for the processing of surfaces with precision in the nanometer range of most different materials in the semiconductor industry.
